Program Overview

The Cattle Pregnancy Determination Clinic is a one-day class designed held at the Hill Farm Research Station each October. It is jointly taught with LSU AgCenter faculty and local large animal veterinarians. The clinic primarily focuses on teaching palpation and blood collection for pregnancy determination assays. However, ultrasound is also discussed and demonstrated. It is important to understand that the purpose of this class is to teach producers methods of pregnancy determination in their own herds. It is illegal to determine or diagnose pregnancy status in animals that do not belong to you, according to Louisiana’s Veterinary Practice Act. This program fills up quickly and can only accommodate 15 producers per day.

Producer capacity is limited to 15 people per day.
Cost for this training will be a $225. This includes a non-refundable $125 registration fee per producer. You have the option to pay in full now or pay only the deposit now and then the remaining $100 by check or money order by Friday October 2, 2026.
