It is not enough to know how.   Contractors need to know why -- the key to avoiding costly or hazardous outcomes and to using the most effective practical solution.

This 3-day course provides technicians and contractors with the information and method training needed to successfully perform safe and effective mold remediation -- with the goals of restoring and maintaining a healthy indoor environment and property protection. The course will cover industry standards and procedures as well as provide participants with a working knowledge of mold characteristics, moisture dynamics and building science principles that are crucial to both mold removal and control.

Satisfactory completion of this course fulfills the 24-hour initial technical training requirement for a Mold Remediation Contractor license in the state of Louisiana. (See course content below.) For information about additional requirements to obtain a license, visit www.lslbc.louisiana.gov

New This course now also includes Microbial Pest Control Applicator training.                                                                                     The application of biocides to kill mold or to prevent mold growth for hire in

Louisiana requires certification by the La. Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry.

under the Microbial Pest Control Subcategory (8e). Applicants must take the LDAF

General Standards Exam (free) and a category specific exam ($25). Individuals who

seek certification must schedule an exam with and pay Louisiana Department of

Agriculture & Forestry (LDAF) for the category specific exam ($25/exam).. LDAF is the

only agency that can administer exams.

Attendees will receive a Mold Control and Remediation manual, Microbial Pest Control

Applicator exam preparation manuals, and a collection of relevant consumer

publications on a USB drive that can be printed and shared with clients.
